About
I’m a 30-something London-based writer, blogger, historian, feminist, activist, music geek, bookworm, amateur photographer and official dreamer of many dreams. I read omnivorously and write compulsively.
I’m fascinated by music, film, photography, art, politics, history, football, comedy and philosophy.
I drink too much coffee and smoke too many roll-ups. I like beer and interesting people – preferably at the same time, if at all possible.
I’m inspired by anyone who is politically engaged, anyone with integrity, anyone with the courage of their convictions, anyone who loves a good debate, anyone who is prepared to stand up for what they believe in, anyone who is passionate about what they do.
Oh, and anyone who can make me laugh…
This blog originally started out on MySpace in early 2007 as a personal outlet for my rants and ramblings on a diverse and eclectic range of subjects – mainly the stuff I’m passionate and borderline obsessive about (see above), along with random bits and pieces I come across that make me think, puzzle me or simply amuse me.
In fact, my approach to blogging is actually very neatly summed up by Neil Gaiman, who is (coincidentally) one of my favourite writers:
Use your blog to connect. Use it as you. Don’t ‘network’ or ‘promote’. Just talk.
And believe me, I can talk…!
I’m always interested to get feedback from my readers – what have you enjoyed reading about? What would you like to see more of (or less of)? Are there any subjects you would like me to cover? If you do have any ideas you think I may be interested in, then please feel free to head on over to the Feedback page, and let me know.
The Feedback page is also the place to go to find out how to get regular updates on Another Kind Of Mind and share anything else you might want to say, or report any problems and errors you might have spotted.
Please also feel free to leave comments if there is anything you would like to say about my writing – whether you agree with me or not doesn’t matter (NB: Please have a look at my site policy over on the Commenting page before making your first comment – cheers!).
Peace and love
“I was alone, I took a ride, I didn’t know what I would find there/Another road, where maybe I could see another kind of mind there” – The Beatles, ‘Got To Get You Into My Life’

Sounds like me
Glad to hear there are others like me out there!
Hello, I came to you from http://mike10613.wordpress.com/2012/05/27/bluebells-and-buttercups/
and enjoyed your bluebell post. I think we mostly have hybrids too but I so love the colour, I almost forgive them.
I like what I read here too!
